Week #4 Detroit surprises Da Bears 37-27

In a very strange turn of events the Detroit Lions actually outscored their opponent in the 4th quarter; 34-14. That just doesn't happen usually for the Detroit Lions, I am so used to use throwing the game away in the fourth quarter.

Lions QB Jon Kitna continues to put up great number (20-24 for 247 and 2 TD's) and we actually win the games. Unlike last season when he would put up big offensive number and the Lions would still loose.

I still don't know what to think of this years Detroit Lions, 3-1 a quarter of the way through the season. I guess that means they still have plenty of time to wake up from this dream and show us diehard fans that they are still the same old hapless Lions.

We still have absolutely no running game and it doesn't look like we will get any better with Kevin Jones back in the lineup.

Great win for the Lions, but with Green Bay the best team in the NFC we aren't going to make the playoffs without a huge breakdown by the Packers.

Jon;
Kitna didn't lose those games last year. Millen did. By ignoring the offensive line in 2006, Millen left Kitna with meager protection, especially on his blind side. Kitan got racked repeatedly from behind and that was because the pass protection stunk. Many of his purported interceptions were really passes that got knocked off course because Kitna got hit from behind as he was throwing. This was not a new phenomenon. The last 4 or 5 QB's for the Lions have also been pounded and ultimately developed nervous twitches. Start with Scott Mitchell and go forward.
Kitna actually did pretty well with what he had around him. And he took a lot of punishment without complaining.

I have said all along that Matt Millen neds to fire himself as GM and hire a real GM and then the Lions might actually make the playoffs
